Clindr child safety standards
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Clindr is a dating app for healthcare professionals aged 18 and over. This page explains our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and against child sexual abuse material (CSAM): what we prohibit, how to report, and what we do next.
Zero tolerance
Clindr has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The following is prohibited anywhere in the app (profiles, photos, profile phrases and messages):
- Sharing, requesting, saving or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM): photos, videos or computer-generated images.
- Sexualising anyone under 18, in images or in text.
- Contacting a child to gain their trust for sexual purposes (grooming).
- Blackmailing a child to get sexual images or sexual contact (sextortion).
- Trying to meet a child for sexual purposes, or helping someone else do so.
- Any form of trafficking or sexual exploitation of children.
Adults only (18+)
Clindr is only for people aged 18 or over. This is how we enforce it:
- To create an account you must tick a required box confirming that you are 18 or over. Without it, the account is not created.
- When you complete your profile you enter your age, and the app does not accept an age under 18.
- A profile only appears in Discover once a member of our team approves the verification of its colegiado number.
- Profile photos and profile phrases are reviewed by a member of our team before other people can see them.
- In chat you can only send text: there is no sending of photos, videos or files.
Each person states their own age; we do not check it against an identity document. That is why we also rely on reports. If an account looks like it belongs to someone under 18, you can report it with the reason "Appears to be underage". If we confirm that the person is under 18, we exclude the account from Clindr.
How to report and block inside the app
You can report and block anyone without leaving the app:
- In Discover, tap the information button (i) on a card to open the full profile. At the bottom of the profile you will find the "Block" and "Report" buttons.
- In a chat, open "More options" (the three dots at the top right) and choose "Block" or "Report".
When you report, you choose a reason, for example "Appears to be underage", "Harassment or offensive messages" or "Other reason", and you can write up to 1,000 characters to explain what happened. With "Other reason" the explanation is required.
A report also blocks that person unless you untick the box: you stop seeing each other and the chat is closed. We do not tell the reported person who reported them.
You can also write to us at privacidad@islasdigital.xyz. Give the profile name and say what happened. Do not send or forward images of child sexual abuse: tell us where you saw them and we will look into it ourselves.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 112 before writing to us.
What we do after a report
A member of our team reviews every report by hand, as soon as possible. They can dismiss it, record a warning, or permanently exclude the person from Clindr.
In a case of child sexual abuse or exploitation, we permanently exclude the account.
Exclusion takes effect immediately: the profile and its photos stop being visible, open matches and conversations are closed, all sessions of that person are ended, and their email address can no longer be used to register.
If we confirm child sexual abuse material, we remove it and report it to the competent authorities (in Spain, the Policía Nacional or the Guardia Civil).
We keep the report and the evidence available (profile, photos and messages) so that we can hand it to the authorities. Data may be kept blocked, at the disposal of judges, courts and public administrations, as the Privacy Policy inside the app explains.
Legal framework
Clindr complies with the laws against child sexual abuse and exploitation that apply to it in Spain and in the European Union.
